The CJR Memorial Foundation proudly supports the Ronald McDonald House in Philadelphia.  There, families are able to stay free of charge while their child receives treatment at nearby hospitals including the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.  In Caleb's name we are able to sponsor a room in full, lessening the stress and financial burden for all who stay there each year.  We also assist families experiencing financial hardship while caring for their critically ill child.  We help these families make ends meet by covering expenses like mortgage payments and utility bills so those parents are not forced to choose between their jobs and being by their child's side.  

Every August the Ronald McDonald House hosts camp for one week with over 200 campers.  Ronald McDonald House Camp is a place where kids with cancer and their siblings can enjoy just being kids!  It is a week of fun, friendship, and freedom from feeling different.  It is a chance to experience new activities and acquire new skills in a supportive, nurturing environment.  Here, kids can talk openly about cancer and everybody else understands.  Camp welcomes children ages 7 - 17 who are currently undergoing treatment or have recently been treated for cancer.  One sibling per camper also has the opportunity to attend.  Ronald McDonald House Camp makes a significant impact on the children who attend.  We are excited to fully sponsor a cabin each year.  

2020 will mark our fourth year parterning with the Make-A-Wish Foundation.  Since 2016, the CJR Memorial Foundation has contributed $21,000 to Make-A-Wish in support of five wishes.  These magical moments have included a bedroom makeover, trips to Disney World and a tropical adventure to Hawaii.  

For the second time this year, we be selecting a "Most Inspirational Kid" to celebrate at this May event.  We look for children who have been effected by cancer (either themselves or a loved one) and have been inspired to start their own charitable organizations.  We help their organization by providing financial support and tangible gifts.  For example, last year's recipient was Ryder's Smile Packages.  Ryder is a cancer survivor from Pennsylvania who makes special care packages for other children who are newly diagnosed.  The CJR Memorial Foundation was able to donate tablets, coloring books and supplies, water bottles, blankets, warm hats and much more to help Ryder reach his goals.  Because of our contribution to Ryder's Smile Packages, he was able to deliver many more care packages than he could have imagined!  We will do it again this year, selecting another "Most Inspirational Kid" and helping them to continue their good work.
