11th Annual Help Keep Kids off the Streets Walkathon
Walk/Run for Outreach Church of JesusOct 01, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Outreach Church of Jesus (aka OCOJ) has been endeavoring to keep kids off the streets in the communities we serve since the mid 1980's. How? By instilling lasting change in our youth through faith-based programs centered on positive character development, education (K-12 and higher education), and service-learning, including community service involvement to support and raise awareness for the homeless, hungry, impoverished and the other needy around us.
Our programs help children establish and maintain a faithful relationship with Jesus Christ, build humble character, encourage strong work ethic, assist youth with identifying and developing their unique gifts and talents, and teaching them how to use their skills for the betterment of themselves and those they are privileged to serve throughout their lives. As a result, the youth served by OCOJ discover, learn and develop what is necessary to help keep them off the streets.
The goal of our annual Walkathon is to help raise awareness of the programs and services we provide to the local community, and how we can help meet the mental and physical needs of the individuals and families we serve.
During the event, we conduct a free raffle where we historically give away $10,000+ in donated food and recreation items from local restaurants, recreational businesses and area attractions.
We also provide free food and drink to the first 400 registered walkers. Your donation will be included in our raffle and will be given away to the local community as a blessing and token of your generosity and support of the children and families we jointly serve.
