We have inherited the same mission as the original founder of our organization, Jesus Christ, who summarized the work our Father has given us to do by this word:
“The Spirit of the LORD is upon me, because he has anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed; To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD." - Luke 4:18-19 NKJV
In short, our mission as one of the local members of the body of Jesus Christ, is to lay down our lives daily to help meet the natural and spiritual needs of those we serve in our local communities, nationally and internationally.
Our Annual Walkathon is a family friendly, free community event open to the entire general public. It is a walkathon; however, it is free to walk, free food/drink is provided to the first 400 registered walkers, and as a thank you for those Walking in the event to help us collect our financial pledges, we conduct a free raffle throughout the event where we historically give back to the community $10,000+ in donations we receive from local businesses, restaurants and attractions. All donations we receive for our raffle are given right back to the community at large; they are not given directly to Outreach Church of Jesus; we simply collect the raffle donation and distribute it back to the local community residents during the event. All residents, regardless of age, gender and nationality are able to register to Walk and win the raffle donations we collect.
