Our annual fundraiser gala will return to an in-person event and will be hosted by HERS Breast Cancer Foundation at the Casa Bella Event Center on Saturday, April 23, 2022. Proceeds will benefit our Assistance Programs which ensure that under-served (low income, under-insured, and uninsured) breast cancer survivors have access to post-surgical products that support their physical and emotional healing.

We are a DME (Durable Medical Equipment) provider and our professionally trained Breast Care Specialists provide compassionate consulation and fitting services at our two locations: San Leandro (a partnership with Kaiser Permanente) and Fremont (a partnership with Washington Hospital). We provide support to breast cancer patients from all nine Bay Area counties and have been in continuous operation since 1998. Our Breast Care Specialist undergo extensive training and rigorous testing to earn their CFm (Certified Mastectomy Fitter) designation and we are unique in the Bay Area in that, unlike for-profit providers of post-surgical products, we do not turn away patients based on their insurance or economic status.

Examples of products we provide include breast forms (prostheses), pocketed bras, compression garments to alleviate the physically painful and emotionally challenging condition called lymphedema, and wigs. We support our work via private donations, foundation grants, and by hosting two major fundaisers per year -- our spring gala and our fall walk/run/yoga fundraiser.

Our spring gala event elements include a cocktail reception, seated dinner, silent and live auctions, and our HERS Awards presentations. If granted, a Six Flags donation will be included in our Family Fun-themed basket and will be acknowledged on our Instagram and Facebook accounts, in our e-newsletter, in our printed gala program, and on our website.
