Description

The 19th Annual Physicians' Gala will take place on Saturday, October 29, 2022 from 7:00 - 11:00 p.m. at the Omni Homestead in Hot Springs, Virginia. Over 350-400 physicians and health care leaders are expected to attend. The event includes dinner and our Salute to Service Awards honoring physician excellence. Many physicians, PAs, residents and students will be in attendance. We also have our Annual Meeting on Friday and Saturday, and over 250 – 300 people will attend and have access to our exhibitors and sponsors. In addition, the Medical Society of Virginia Foundation will have a booth with information on all of our upcoming educational classes.

The funds raised will be used to help specifically with the Virginia Mental Health Access Program, (VMAP) and SafeHaven. VMAP will provide access for children from every race, gender, ethnicity and income under 21 to mental health services including: child psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and care coordination in the Centra healthcare areas. SafeHaven will ensure physicians and PAs can seek support for burnout, career fatigue, and mental health reasons without the fear of undue repercussions to their medical license. The physicians are all races, gender, ethnicity, age, and income. Any physician working for a nonprofit may receive a scholarship, and individuals in smaller practices will be subsidized $100 per physician or PAs for the cost of the program. By treating the mental health of physicians and PAs, this will certainly help improve the health of all Virginian
