The Medical Society of Virginia Foundation (MSVF) is a 501 c3 nonprofit whose mission is to support Virginia physicians, physician assistants, medical students, and residents in the practice of medicine and improve the health of all Virginians. The MSVF concentrates its efforts in several priority areas, developing cross-cutting, sustainable programs and initiatives including the Virginia Mental Health Access Program (VMAP) - a statewide program designed to provide access for children to mental health services including: child psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and care coordination; SafeHaven™ - a statewide program that ensures physicians, PAs and other healthcare workers can seek support for burnout, career fatigue, and mental health reasons without the fear of undue repercussions to their medical license; SYNC - hands-on workshops where physician/staff teams learn about collaboration and leadership to solve a particular health care challenge; Physicians Leadership Institute (PLI) - program focusing on the physician as a leader of an inter-professional work team within the community including topics such as organizational change and innovation, health care finance, conflict resolution and negotiation, strategic thinking, burnout, resiliency and work-life balance; and Infuse - wellness and innovation classes for the physician. Our long-term goals are to continue to grow and expand our programs for physicians and the health care community.
