Description

Our 2022 17th Annual Fundraising Gala will include a reception with appetizers, drinks, and silent auctions, an awards ceremony, a live auction, and then a dinner filled with delicious food catered by top-tier local restaurants. We are going to provide entertainment throughout the gala. For example, we will invite a Chinese musician to play live music during our reception and some other Chinese artists to interact with attendees. Moreover, we are recognizing four special individuals or groups who have committed and contributed their talents for the betterment of our society in the arts, culture, and humanities. This year’s Diversity and Inclusion Award goes to Jean Appolon of Jean Appolon Expressions (JAE) for creating hope and healing through Haitian Folkloric dance. JAE is committed to building strong, caring, and diverse communities through dance. The Excellence in Community Service Award goes to Chien-Chi Huang, Founder and Executive Director of Asian Women for Health, for her dedication in supporting Asian women’s health and wellness through education and advocacy. The Outstanding Arts and Culture Award goes to Chu Ling for her devotion and commitment to preserving and promoting traditional Chinese dance. And the Edward F. O’Connell Inspirational Service Award goes to Ms. Kathleen Sullivan for her unflagging support of the Chinese Culture Connection’s Youth Leadership and Mentoring program.
