The Chinese Culture Connection is a nonprofit organization, whose mission is to promote intercultural harmony, strengthen diverse communities, and build bridges between American and Chinese people through interactive educational programs and arts in schools, libraries, museums and community centers throughout New England. To arouse the cultural awareness of our younger generation, we provide Little Dragon after school, summer camp, and weekend enrichment classes for them to learn more about the profoundness of Chinese culture. Besides educational programs, we also hold various cultural and sports activities to encourage further multicultural exchange, like annual Chinese New Year celebration, Ping-Pong tournament, Chinese calligraphy and brush painting exhibition, etc. Exposure to Chinese culture will in turn enhances participants' appreciation of their own culture, and expands their awareness and understanding of the world.

Our 2020 15th Annual Gala and Awards Banquet will feature a banquet with 8-10 courses of delicious and authentic Chinese cuisine together with live performances, silent and live auctions to delight our guests. At this annual gala, we are not only celebrating our 35 years of accomplishments and endeavors in sharing Chinese culture with various communities, but also raising funds to support the organization’s mission. Funds raised from this event will support our ongoing projects, such as East Meets West Cultural Dialogue Series, Youth Leadership Programs, Little Dragon After School, etc., and will help add new programs for the coming year. We anticipate approximately 300 guests will attend this event.

Moreover, each year we recognize three very special individuals or groups who have committed and contributed their talents for the betterment of our society in the arts, culture, and humanities. This year’s recipient for Excellence in Community Services Award will be awarded to the Asian Community Development Corporation, (ACDC), for their unflagging commitment to build affordable housing in support of the Asian community in Boston’s Chinatown and beyond. The Diversity and Inclusion Award goes to Debbie Amaral, Executive Director of the Malden YMCA for her dedication to advocating and promoting public health in the diverse Malden community. The Outstanding Arts and Culture Award goes to Cynthia Yee, for her tireless efforts in writing and sharing the richness of Chinatown’s history through the lens of a young insider.

In acknowledgment of your generosity, we will recognize your contribution both in our event and in our program book which will reach every attendee, and your donated items will be displayed during the auction itself. Also, your company’s brochures or flyers will be presented at our display table.
