The Fred Wells Tennis and Education Center (FWTEC) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) in the Twin Cities. At the heart of our organization lies our TennisWorks programs where we support our students in many areas of their lives - socially, emotionally, academically and physically. We rely on the generosity of individual donors, grants, and funders to offer numerous opportunities within our programs to students at no cost!  
TennisWorks serves youth in grades 3-12 and employs tennis, academic, leadership and service opportunities to help develop life skills. Of the students who participate through our school partners and other youth-serving organizations, 94% qualify for the Federal free and reduced lunch program and over 90% identify as youth of color. We have a deep commitment to provide a safe, supportive environment with caring adults to help our students strive for personal growth on and off the court.  
In its 18-year history, our TennisWorks program has won numerous awards. In 2013, Tennis Magazine honored our groundbreaking programs by featuring us in its "Heroes" issue. In 2018, we were named an Aspen Institute Project Play Champion for our efforts to follow youth sport best practices and remove barriers to participation. Most recently, in 2021, FWTEC received recognition by the U.S. Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion as a National Youth Sports Strategy Champion. In 2022, we surpassed our goal of 1,000 unique students registering with our programs. With your help, we can reach our strategic plan goal of 1,250 registrations by 2024. 
On May 6, 2023, FWTEC hosts its annual ProAm fundraiser to benefit our TennisWorks programs. This event features a night of competitive tennis, a cocktail hour, and silent auction. We’re asking you to be part of this event with a donation to our silent auction. Donation of an item will provide your business with exposure to our community of over 3,000 patrons as well as the 200 attendees of the ProAm. Your tax-deductible donation will help fund this award-winning youth development program and support our free programs to continue to share our mission within the Twin Cities.
