I am writing you on behalf of The Fred Wells Tennis and Education Center, affectionately known as The Fort. As a non-profit 501(c)(3), our mission is to bring people together of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds to embrace the lifelong game of tennis while serving under-resourced youth with the support of the community.
At the heart of our organization lies our TennisWorks development programs, which serve youth in grades 3-12 and weave tennis and opportunities to assist youth in developing life skills to be successful. Through a combination of facility, revenue, grants, and the generous support of individual donors, all programming is offered to students at no cost!
By partnering with schools and other youth-serving community organizations, our free TennisWorks program engages youth who would likely not otherwise have access or exposure to the sport of tennis and connects them with not only a chance to learn the game but a supportive community who is invested in their personal growth. Our goals for our students are for them to enjoy being physically active through tennis, to have fun in the program, to build trusting relationships with adults and peers, and to further develop life skills that will benefit them in all areas of their life.
