Description

The Rainbow Run and Family Fun Day is the primary fundraising event for the Abby’s Angels Foundation and includes an untimed 5K color run for all ages and abilities plus music, food, carnival games, and an amazing auction.  We have about 1000 registered runners each year plus hundreds more who come to enjoy the fun.

The proceeds from the Rainbow Run and Family Fun Day help us continue our mission of encouraging safe teen driving and helping children in need. Our work reflects the giving spirit of sweet Abby, who was 9 years old when she earned her angel wings on Christmas Day 2012 as a result of injuries sustained in a car wreck caused by a distracted teen driver.  She gave the Gift of Life through organ donation, saving four lives.

Abby's Angels Foundation hopes that your business will consider donating an item for our auction.  We are most grateful for anything that can be given. Donors will be recognized on Facebook, Instagram, our website and the auction website, in promotional materials and in packets given to every runner. The foundation is a designated 501(c)3 non-profit organization so your donation is tax-deductible and contributes to a very worthy cause.  The work of the Abby’s Angels Foundation includes:

Safe Teen Driving---We sponsor a monthly accident avoidance course in Coweta County through our partnership with Fear This 4 Life, Inc. (www.tvoc.ws).  Over 1500 teens and young adults have completed this life-saving course since 2015. In addition, Abby’s mom, Natalie, regularly shares our #1Life1Choice safe driving message at area high schools and businesses. Abby’s Angels strongly advocated for the 2018 Hands Free Georgia law.

Abby’s Closets—Currently, there are 54 Abby’s Closets providing school supplies all year long to children in need in K-12 schools in Coweta, Carroll, DeKalb, Fayette and Heard counties plus West Virginia and Texas. We plan to continue to install Abby’s Closets throughout the Metro Atlanta area.

Grief Support for Children—Through a partnership with Kate’s Club, we provide free grief support for local children who have lost a parent, sibling or primary caregiver. Sadly, 1 in 13 children in Georgia have experienced this type of loss. We currently have over 99 families registered for our monthly meetings.

College Scholarships—Each year, Abby’s Angels Foundation awards five $1000 college scholarships to deserving seniors who have completed the Fear This 4 Life class and who embrace our safe driving message.  To date, $39,000 in scholarships have been awarded.

Help us continue these great works by donating an item for our auction by April 5th! Thank you in advance for your consideration and support.
