Description

Retired Employess of the City of San Antonio holds one annual in the Fall of each year. RECOSA promotes the event to over 4000 in the membership basethrough  receive email, flyers and postings onthe website to announce the meeting and the doors prizes that are donated by local business. The persentations are always related to health, benefits, local engagement oportunities, and the overall relevant educational topics.

This year, our speaker will be Mayor Ron Nirenberg, and the topic will be: San Antonio as an Age Friendly Community and Curent Topics of Interest for San Antonio.
This is a theme that originated and is a part of AARP programming, and has since been adopted by the city, and has joined in this network of cities found throughout the country.

It is Important as it examines how the community can function better by employing particular programs and activities to assist in creating a community to age succesfully.
A part of this activity is the relavance in incorporating communal activities , such as visiting the Botanicl Gardens.
