Alley Pond Environmental Center is a nonprofit organization in Queens enriching New York City and surrounding community members on sustainability and the need to work together to save our planet. Located in the wetland section of Alley Pond Park, Alley Pond Environmental Center (APEC) is open to all who want to learn about the wonders of nature and ways to sustain our planet. APEC is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization that is open year-round. Admission and parking to our brand new LEED certified Alley Pond Environmental Center (APEC) is free. Our live ambassador animals (turtles, rabbits, doves, snakes, etc.) love to have people come to visit them. Our nature trails are open dawn to dusk. Educational programs are offered for all ages from 12 months to seniors.

APEC has been an educational hub for environmental studies for over 50 years!  Our environmental education programs service more than 52,000 children per year.  We also offer family and adult programs to more than 20,000 adults per year.
