Description

We know that this time of year you are receiving requests from many organizations for assistance with their fundraising events. Our request offers an opportunity for you to partner with us on a BIG mission for the sake of children and young people both locally and across the globe. The Kiwanis Club of Greater Sacramento will be hosting our 23rd annual Crab/Tri-Tip & Shrimp Feed fundraiser on February 17, 2024, at the Buddhist Church of Sacramento. We are already in full swing preparing for our biggest, most important fundraiser of the year…and we’re hoping you will be a part of it. Our Sacramento club is a service organization with local roots dating back to 1948, but also part of Kiwanis International, a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world, one community and one child at a time. Our members devote many, many hours volunteering on community service projects in the greater Sacramento area to help serve and support our youth. We mentor and offer support to seven high school Key Clubs, with over 500 student members, who learn leadership skills through volunteer activities in the community. We also sponsor and support Babcock Elementary’s club with 150 grade school students. Additionally, our club actively supports the Kiwanis Family House. This facility provides temporary housing and support to families of seriously ill or injured children and adults being treated at UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento. Check out our website below to learn more about all the many worthwhile things we do with the money we raise. This event is the club’s major fundraising activity. Besides a tasty crab or tri-tip and shrimp dinner, another important way we raise money that night is through our acclaimed raffle drawing and silent auction. Prize donations from our friends at community businesses like yours help make this a success year after year. We hope you will join our efforts and consider donating an item for our raffle or silent auction. Your donation will introduce our dinner guests (and of course the lucky winner) to your community-minded business/organization. We’ll also make sure your generosity and support receives the recognition it deserves both before the event on social media as well as during the event in print, display and/or announcements. The Kiwanis Foundation of Greater Sacramento is registered with the IRS as a 501 C (3) charity and donations may be tax deductible. Our Federal Tax Identification number is 94-1677910. Thank you for taking the time to consider our request to help us do good things for our community. Please contact me at the number or email below with any questions or to arrange pick-up of your donation.
