The 23rd Genesee Biennial Invitational is a figure skating competition that attracts skaters of all ages to the Rochester area for a weekend of competition.  We draw skaters from a multi-state area including OH, PA, NJ, NY, CT, VT plus Ontario Canada.  We also bring in figure skating officials from throughout the country to facilitate seminars as well as judge the competition.  We attract between 150-250 skaters each time we host the event.  They are also accompanied by coaches and their families.  The event will host upwards of 400-500 people in the course of the weekend.  The Invitational is also the primary fundraising event for the Genesee Figure Skating Club.  Funds raised help our organization be able to continue to provide individual and group classes for skaters, to maintain reasonable costs and to make opportunities available for skaters to try the sport for the first time with fewer expenses.  We are hoping to raise sufficient funds from our event this year to be able to host camp opportunities that would attract skaters back to the area for learning opportunities that are not typically available in this region.
