Genesee Figure Skating Club serves the purpose of introducing skating to individuals of all ages for purposes of health/wellness, recreation, and/or competition. Genesee Figure Skating Club has been in existence since 1955 and has a long history within the Rochester community as well as within the larger commuity of figure skating. We proudly are the only club in the country to have had two Presidents of our national federation (United States Figure Skating Association) among our membership.
We offer programs that bring skaters from their first steps on the ice to regional/sectional/national competitions and throughout adulthood. We strive to create an atmosphere of fun and friendly cooperative experiences. Knowing that skating is beautiful but challenging sport, skaters learn about perseverence and about having to get up when they take a fall. These are life lessons that go beyond the ice.
