Description

Dear Fellow Community Member,

We want to tell you about an amazing and vital local charity that assists law enforcement officers during a time of tragedy.  We hope as a business in the community, you will be able to help us in fulfilling our mission.

In 1998, the Fallen Officers Fund (FOF) was established by the San Diego District Attorney Investigator’s Association (SDDAIA).  The FOF charity was created for the purpose of rendering financial assistance to active San Diego and Imperial County Law Enforcement Officer in times of crisis.  This fund assists local, state, and federal officers or their immediate family when financial assistance is needed.  This can be due to a death, injury, accident, or any other tragic event. Below are examples of past occurrences when FOF assistance has been provided:

·        An officer was attacked and then shot while assisting a stranded motorist.

·        Two young detectives were killed in a sudden head on vehicle collision while traveling on the freeway.

·        A deputy lost his 12-year-old child after a long battle with brain cancer.

In the last two years, the Fallen Officers Fund was able to provide over $100,000 to law enforcement officers and their families in times of crisis.  In 2023, FOF also begun a college educational assistance program for children of fallen officers to help the surviving family pay for the rising costs of higher education and trade schools.  These programs we have for our officers and their families are possible due in large part to the donations we receive during our annual FOF Golf Tournament.  The tournament will take place on May 17th, 2024, at the Rancho Bernardo Inn Golf Resort.  We would like to offer you the opportunity to be a tournament sponsor and support this worthy cause.  The tournament is always preceded by a memorial tribute honoring our Fallen Officers. At the post-tournament dinner, a raffle and auction are held, and this is also where we recognize many of our Sponsors.

A successful raffle and auction are critical to any charity fundraiser.  Any financial contributions, donated items, or gift cards are greatly appreciated.  Please contact us to arrange pick up of your generous contributions.

All supporters will be sent a letter of appreciation after the event with our tax-deductible charity information included.   Sponsors donating over $1000 in funds or value will also be given verbal recognition during the Dinner Banquet.

Please contact us if you have any questions, via email at sandiegofof@gmail.com.  Your assistance and support are greatly appreciated.
