Description

Dear Friend:

The Diamond Bar Friends of the Library is planning our 27th annual Wine Soirée and Benefit Auctions to be held on Sunday, April 26, 2020 at the Diamond Bar Center.  The Wine Soirée is an exciting afternoon of wine and food tasting, music, silent, live and book auctions with all proceeds benefiting the Diamond Bar Library.  In past years we had over 300-350 people celebrating literacy and having an outstanding afternoon.

We hope you will consider supporting the Diamond Bar Library by making a donation of goods, services, or funds.  We will use these donations in a variety of ways:  the larger donations are used in our Live Auction.  Smaller donations are used in our Silent Auction or Raffle.

Proceeds from this event will benefit Diamond Bar and the surrounding community in the coming year, in the following ways:

In 2019 we organized and paid for a complete remodel of the Friends’ Reading Garden, located in the Diamond Bar Library.  We also reupholstered many of the chairs throughout the Library.  We are dedicated to keeping our library as fresh and new as when it first opened in 2012.
Once again, the Diamond Bar Friends will underwrite the Summer Reading Program for three age groups—children, teens, and adults.
This will be followed by a month long program, Read Together Diamond Bar, where everyone in the community is encouraged to read the same book and then participate in the many activities offered to support literacy.
Of course, the Friends’ donations purchase books, DVDs, and other needed library materials throughout the entire year.
We operate our two volunteer-run non-profit bookstores, Basically Books that are open and welcoming places to find a bargain, an interesting book, and meet your friends and neighbors.
We also pay for many programs for adults and children throughout the year.

The Diamond Bar Library is the most utilized library in the Los Angeles County Library system—so you see why we need your help.

Thank you for your consideration of the very worthwhile event.
