Description

Since Roswell New Mexico's VFW post has been chartered, we have had to depend on the generosity of Churches and community centers in town for a place to hold our monthly meetings.  We are also in need of supplies that will be used to recruit new memvers and to serve our community.  The majority of the funds raised will greatlyu assist us in our search for a post home which provides combat veterans in Roswell a safe place to meet.  Having a post home will allow us more fundraising opportunities which will further help us in our mission to our fellow veterans and community.  This will be our 2nd golf tournament fundraiser as we have not yet met our goal of raising enough funds to purchase or build a facility.  Although we conduct several fundraisers each year our golf tournament is by far our largest.  We are only as successful as our generous sponsors and donors allow us to be.  Our tournament is a fun filled two day tournament.  We hold each day at a different golf course which provides both fun and challenging play for our participants.  We hold different events during play such as Beat the Pro, Break the Glass, a ball drop, closest to the pin, and a hole in one competition which through one of our sponsors offers a significant prize to the winner.  We hold a dinner the night of the first day where we have both a live and silent auction as well as raffle and door prizes.  The live auction is high spirited and competitive with many great experinces and items up for bid.  The more exciting the items the more bids are made.  Last year we had a few hunting opportunities as well as travel, spa, and cool items such as ones donated from both the Texas Rangers and Arizona Dimondbacks professional baseball organizations.  This is why we are excited to be accepted into Donation Match.  Through this great organization we hope to be able to raise enough money to finally meet our goals so that we can continue to provide services to our veterans and community.
