Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 12184 was charted in 2019 in Roswell, NM. Since then, we have grown exponentially in membership and participation. The VFW is a Nationwide, non-profit organization. Our mission is to care for our community's veterans and their families. We provide assistance with filing Veterans Affairs medical claims, funeral services, advocating for veteran friendly legislation, recognition of first responders, Americanism, flag etiquette, and emergency financial assistance are just a few of the many ways we help our veterans. We are also a community driven organization. The VFW offers uyouth scholarship opportunities through essay competitions in which $30,000 can be awarded. We also recognize first responders and teachers who go above and beyond what is expected of them, and we also porvide community services such as helping the elderly with yard work and cemetery beautification.
