Description

Dear Friends of the Lemont High School Band Program,

On Saturday, March 12, 2022, the award-winning Lemont High School Band will host its 32nd Annual Jazz Band Dinner Dance Benefit at DiNolfo’s Banquets in Homer Glen. Our goal is to make this a memorable event for all who attend. We hope you can help us achieve this goal!

Each year, we look to the business community for support. It is our hope that you will be able to provide assistance through a donation of merchandise or funds.

The LHS Band Program and its four feature bands – marching, symphonic, concert, and jazz – have a rich history of success. In 2021, the LHS Marching Band placed second in Class 3A at the Illinois State Marching Band Championship and 11th overall out of 42 competing bands. The marching band also performed in 2021 in a Make a Wish Foundation parade for a fellow student. In 2019, the Symphonic Band was selected to perform at the University of Illinois’s SuperState Concert Band Festival. In 2017, the LHS Symphonic Band was awarded Grand Champion at Midwest Music Fest and was invited to perform at Chicago’s Symphony Center. In 2016, the LHS Marching Band earned second place in its class at the State Marching Band competition.  In 2015, the LHS Band was selected to perform live with Grammy- and Academy Award-winning artist Jennifer Hudson.

The LHS Band Parents Association sponsors our young musicians during the year with a variety of fundraising efforts. Our goal is to maintain the highest level of excellence in musical performance and presentation that our students have come to demand of themselves by funding uniforms, summer band camps, music and marching clinics, staff, and field show expenses for the band’s 100+ members. These expenses can add up to over $80,000 a season.

The Annual Jazz Band Dinner Dance Benefit is our flagship fundraising event. In addition to dinner and dancing, we host raffles during the evening, including the famous Top Hat area. Your contribution to our 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization is tax-deductible as provided by law, and you will receive a receipt. Your company will be recognized at the event to up to 400 in-person attendees as well as our 600 Facebook followers.

If you choose to provide a gift card/certificate, we respectfully ask that you date the card/certificate “March 12, 2022” so it can be used within your specified time frame. Also please write “LHS Band Parents Association” on the card/certificate. If you are providing an item, please include promotional materials about your business. We will accept donations at any time, but would greatly appreciate receiving all donations by February 12, 2022, if possible.

Thank you in advance for your consideration. A committee member will contact you by phone or email in follow-up to this letter. If you have any questions, please reach out to me directly.

Kindest Regards,

Amy Selle, Committee Chair | 630.805.3267 | amy.selle@corecubed.com
