Since 1977, the Friends of the Leon Valley Public Library, a 501 (c) 3 tax-exempt organization, has been the support organization for the Leon Valley Public Library. Combining the interests of both residents and business, the Friends have ensured that the Library has the extra resources that it needs to continue to be the “heart” of the city.

Breakfast with Santa is truly a family event staple in Leon Valley. People who attended as children are not bringing their children and grandchildren. It's a fantastic way to start the holiday season. Food, beverages, silent auction, and a special guest are all a part of the event.

All proceeds benefit the Leon Valley Public Library by providing programs (like Matt the Shark Guy, Extended Run Players, and Mother Earth), supplies, and additions to the book collections. Funds have also been used for outreach and the Library's new Teens Speak program.
