I am reaching out from a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization called The Ocean is Female. We are based in Brielle, New Jersey at the Jersey Shore. We are an organization that is geared towards young girls and women in our communities to empower and inspire them with kindness, strength, and healing. The goal of the OisF is to create a support network for girls and advocate for survivors of abuse. 

We developed the first ever surf therapy program in The United States specifically for survivors of abuse. We had 250 plus girls connect with each other through events like stand up paddle boarding, healthy cooking, beach cleaning, hiking dune trails, sewing beach beds, and more. We have over 100 volunteers who contribute hours upon hours for this non-profit organization. We stuffed stockings for the holidays and gifted to local survivors, purchased halloween costumes for local children living in safe homes, collected clothing for women living in local safe homes who were brave enough to leave abusive situations and seek support, just to name a few things we do for our community and survivors. 

We are hosting our 3rd Annual OisF “Waves of Change” Fundraiser on June 22, 2023 at Reef and Barrel. There will be live music, a gift auction, food and open bar, food trucks, and more. Last year was our second year hosting this non-profit fundraising event and we raised over $30,000! Its success each year has succeeded the prior year allowing us to expand our event. We had over 350 guests last year and are already anticipating more for 2023.

Funds raised at the "Waves of Change" Fundraiser will go directly towards The OisF's programs and services. Your contribution will help The OisF continue to, among other things, build a community for girls through The OisF Rider Program, develop its leadership and self-empowerment program for middle-school aged girls, sponsor children who have been abused to attend ocean-based summer camps (e.g., surf, SUP, etc.), and run the first-ever surf therapy program specifically for survivors of abuse in the United States.
