The Ocean is Female is a local non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that is geared towards young girls and women in our communities to empower and inspire them with kindness, strength, and healing. The goal of the OisF is to create a support network for girls and advocate for survivors of abuse. Through various opportunities and local events centered around the ocean, the riders are building a community of girls that inspire goodness and strength in each other! The OisF believes in the power of the sea to help strengthen and heal – it is our mission to get survivors and their families in and around the ocean, so that they can experience this power firsthand and learn useful new tools to lean on in their healing journey. The OisF hosts various events thorughout the year, including community beach sweeps, offers healthy eating cooking classes, age appropriate group sessions on heatlhy relationships, sewing classes, surf thearpy programs, art classes, and much more. We are a vehicle to promote conversation about abuse-- and to raise awareness of the prevalence of abuse in our communties. Through our work, it is helping to end the silence and stigma surrounding abuse, and giving survivors--and all women and girls--a voice and a safe space to share their stories.
