Description

We are gearing up for our 5th Annual Golf Tournament to be held Thursday, September 19 2024 at Silver Lakes Golf & Country Club, a 4-star, 72 par championship course in East Gwillimbury. We are expecting 144 golfers of varying levels of experience to participate as well as several volunteers to help run the event.

We are looking for in-kind donations for live auction, silent auction and raffle draw to help raise funds so that we may continue providing these valuable services to the young families we support. Our goal is to raise $70,000 through sponsorships and silent auction/raffle draw tickets.

Since 1985, Rose of Sharon Services for Young Mothers (Rose of Sharon) has provided free supportive programs and educational services in York Region to pregnant and parenting youth mothers (14-29 years) while they build greater stability in the lives of their children. Our mission is to empower young mothers to embrace their strengths and support the future they envision for themselves and their children

Our programs allow young mothers to embrace their strengths, continue high school, build parenting skills, increase child development knowledge, receive personal counselling and have access to food and practical support needed to raise a healthy family. Offered on-line and on-site in a welcoming, safe and inclusive space, youth parents set goals and work toward building the future they envision for themselves and their children. 100% of the free programs and services that we offer are funded thanks to community support.
