I'm Tara Green, a board member writing to you today on behalf of the Jennie Goas Silverman Foundation. We are a small (but mighty) nonprofit local to Chicago. Our foundation was created to honor the work of our dear friend Jennie, a high school math teacher in CPS. Jennie was dedicated to impacting the youth of our city and inspiring a love of learning to her students. Tragically in 2017 we lost Jennie to triple negative breast and we strive to keep both her spirit and work alive through the JGS Foundation.

Here’s where you come in!! We are on the hunt for donations, big or small or anything in between for our 5th Annual JGS Gala: Deadly Famous on October 21, 2021. Specifically we are searching for in-kind donations or sponsors to help support.

As of June 2021, JGS supports 10 scholarship recipients attending a wide range of schools such as University of Michigan, University of Illinois, University of Wisconsin, UIC, Pomona College and others. We aim to continue to support these remarkable students through college and beyond as they strive to positively impact their
community. Additionally, we provide medical research grants for the research into triple negative breast cancer.
