The Quack Out Cholangio 5k Run/Walk to Crush Bile Duct Cancer is more than just a 5k. We are the largest 5k for Cholangiocarcinoma in North America. Last year we had 613 participants, and this number continues to grow year after year. We have live music from Nick Bucci and Keli Vale, 2 of Delaware’s top musicians who play to honor a much loved, respected and missed fellow local musician who was stolen byCholangiocarcinoma. We have food trucks and an incredible raffle with amazing prizes.

Cholangiocarcinoma (Ko-Lan-G-O-Car-Sin-O-Ma) aka Bile Duct Cancer is a rare lethal cancer that once was found mostly in men over 65 but is now being seen in much younger men and women and even in a young boy only 9 years of age.   It is difficult to diagnose, often diagnosed at a later stage, can take up to one year to be diagnosed and has limited treatment options. A study in JAMA predicts that liver cancer and intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma will be the THIRD leading cause of cancer death by 2040. With drugs often taking 10+ years to get to market even with accelerated approval, the time is NOW for research and development of new treatment options. We fund research fellowship grants to find more treatment options and therefore more hope for cholangiocarcinoma patients worldwide.
