Description

The Boardman Schools Fund for Educational Excellence, a component fund of the Community Foundation of the Mahoning Valley, is a non-profit organization providing funding for projects to further the educational experiences of students.  Specifically the Fund has an interest in funding projects which help sutdents develop their talents and interests through the creation of an environment which nurtures high achievement and educational excellence. such projedts go beyond the scope of those funded by the Boardma Local Schools educational budget.  Ultimately, this represents a long term effort to provide a source of funding for both the enrichment of existing programs and new projectss to increase the educational opportunities for students in the Boardman Local School District.

8th Annual Reverse Raffle and Dinner - Individual tickets are sold for entry into the raffle and for dinner in March.  Every ticket in the raffle pool is drawn with the last ticket drawn taking home a cash prize of $2,000.  In between the drawing of raffle tickets there will be a basket auction, wine toss and a silent auction.  Last year 325 tickets were sold, this year's goal is to sell over 400 tickets.

In the past, monies raised from this event purchased social/emotional wellness equipment, trail cameras, and mobile sky imaging workstation. One of this year's grant applications requested a greenhouse to help with the sustainability of our tomato seeds from space.
