The Boardman Schools Fund for Educational Excellence (BSFEE), a component fund of the Community Foundation of the Mahoning Valley, began an annual Teacher Grant Program in 2009. Through the generous support of the surrounding community and the Boardman Education Association, BSFEE has since awarded over $95,000 in grants and projects, allowing staff to provide classroom equipment and experiences that go beyond school budgets. Some examples include outdoor lab equipment, literacy enters, and STEAM-based MakerSpace materials.
The funds raised award multiple teacher grants in the amount of $1,750 each. Specifically, BSFEE has an interest in funding projects which help students develop their talents and interests through the creation of an environment which nurtures high achievement and educational excellence.
