Twenty-Five years ago Partners in Adult Learning (PAL) was created by Clearbrook, Northwest Special Recreation Association, Community Alternatives Unlimited and 4 families. There are currently 6 families working diligently to raise funds necessary to cover costs related to assistive technology, adaptive equipment, and transportation for the PAL clients.  This special program is located within Clearbrook and includes all these components along with volunteer activities, extended studies, social & leisure options, and necessary physical care.

The PAL clients meet every Monday through Friday, 52 weeks a year. The clients’ purpose is to work, engage and interact with the local community. When on-site they spend their time reading, gardening, cooking, participating in recreational activities and creating unique projects for the benefit of the less fortunate. For more than two decades PAL has offered young adults with special needs the opportunity to live, work and participate in the community. 

On Sunday, October 2, 2022, at Pinstripes Bistro & Bar in South Barrington, IL, Partners in Adult Learning, PAL, will celebrate its 25th Annual Lunch Auction and Fundraiser to benefit these unique individuals.
