Abbey's Hope Golf Tournament
Golf Tournament for Abbey's Hope Charitable FoundationSep 11, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM
In 2008, six-year-old Abbey Taylor died from injuries she received from an improperly maintained wading pool drain. Her hope was that no child would again suffer or die as the result of a preventable entrapment. The Abbey's Hope Charitable Foundation works tirelessly on her behalf.
We are a small Foundation truly doing big things. It is hard to quantify all of the work we do but as a small snapshot here is what we have accomplished in 2023 alone:
- Taught water safety lessons to over 2000 children.
- Distrubited 1000 free life jackets to children in our community.
- Provided 450 children with an 8 lesson learn to swim program.
- Provided 300 children with a one day learn to swim camp.
- Created Salute to Swimming, a program for youth entering the military who have not been taught to swim.
- Graduated our first 161 teens from our Salute to Swim Program.
- Funded lifeguard training for 50 young adults, unable to afford the training.
- Worked with over 40 local partners to provide a variety water safety educational opportunites.
And this list doesn't even include any of our national work on drowning prevention. How the hope of one brave young girl leads to this much good is truly because of the incredible support we have recieved from our community. To all who have supported us, we are more grateful than we can ever express. Thank you!
Join us on September 11th at Olympic Hills for a round of golf to support our mission and continued work for drowning prevention and water safety.
