Description

Million Dollar Teacher Project (MDTP) is a nonprofit organization (501(c)3 #81-3050329) established in Phoenix in October 2016 as a mechanism to strengthen schools in Arizona. The work of the organization revolves around the principle that the most cost-effective & sustainable way to improve schools is to direct more resources & support directly to the teaching profession, so schools have the ability to attract great talent into every classroom. The mission of MDTP is to elevate the teaching profession through increased recognition, compensation & support. Our vision is to create a world where every student is taught by a highly trained, qualified, understanding & engaged teacher. Recognition, Compensation & Support are the three pillars that we develop community-centered, grassroots approaches around to push the needle forward in the teaching profession, schools & the education system. The rate at which Arizona teachers are leaving the profession is alarming & from the 2023 Arizona Educator Working Conditions Study findings, 54% of K-12 educators said they would "Somewhat" to "Very Likely" leave the profession in the next 1-2 years. MDTP has 3 strong pillars'-worth of programming to change the landscape of education for educators!

Million Dollar Teacher Project (MDTP) is for sponsorship for &/or donation to our 3rd annual Adult Field Trip, MDTP’s organization-wide fundraising gala to be held at the Children's Museum of Phoenix on Friday, July 26, 2024 from 6:00-9:00 p.m. Since MDTP directly serves Arizona teachers &, indirectly, their students, this event is an opportunity for "big kids" to revisit their childhood, reminisce on their school years & consider the teachers who they had as children who made the greatest impact on their lives. Through our Adult Field Trip, a portion of the proceeds raised through sponsorship, silent raffles & ticket sales will go directly to MDTP’s In Teachers We Trust Endowment Fund, which will be used to offer emergency assistance to teachers experiencing hardships, offer scholarships to educators looking to further their education, provide field trip grants to teachers looking to take their students on educational outings & to offer basic needs assistance to families identified by teachers. This year, our goal is to have at least 250 attendees & raise at least $75,000 for the In Teachers We Trust Endowment Fund.

At the Adult Field Trip, MDTP’s Recognition pillar will announce its Feel Like a Million Dollars grand prize winner, in which one teacher will be selected from our incredible One in A Million series featured teacher group to receive a generous financial gift & an amazing prize package. We would love to add as many community donations to this grand prize as possible!

By supporting our programs with your sponsorship/donation, we verbally as well as visually (with your logo on our presentations) thank our sponsors/donors at the Adult Field Trip. In addition, we post sponsor/donor "Shout-outs" (with names, websites, social media tags & logos) throughout the year on MDTP’s social media platforms. By supporting MDTP's mission, our sponsors/donors are highlighted & thanked in our monthly newsletter, The Benjamin, & in our annual report. Lastly, we encourage & invite our sponsors/donors to have representation at our events to say some "words of thanks" to the teachers as well as to promote their products or services.
