Description

Each year NAJA hosts an Annual Education Conference to train our volunteers to be servant leaders. In honor of the conference being in Tennessee, the volunteer state, our theme this year is "Heart of a Warrior, Power of a Volunteer". An educational and informative weekend has been planned to celebrate the Junior Auxiliary spirit of volunteerism. The conference provides workshops, leadership training, motivational speakers and networking opportunities. In addition to the program, attendees will have the opportunity to partner with Hands on Nashville to complete a service project. Hands on Nashville is a local nonprofit that serves as a volunteer hub, connecting volunteers to service needs. Attendees will have the opportunity to hear their story and complete a "kit" project while engaging in a fun, creative way to benefit the Nashville community.

During the conference we sponsor a raffle to raise funds to make grants to our Chapters to help fund their service projects. The 500 women who will attend the conference will shop at the raffle vying for merchandise donated by companies and indivduals.

For more than 80 years, members of NAJA have performed hands-on service to not just make a difference for children and families, but to change lives. Our 94 Chapters in 7 states (Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri and Tennessee) create and carry out hundreds of inspiring service projects in local schools and communities that address unmet needs.

Last year our Chapters served more than 226,500 children and families. Our work includes the overarching goal of breaking the cycle of dependency, be it financial, emotional or physcial. Through ongoing relationships, often with an entire family, Junior Auxiliary empowers them to stand on their own two feet.
