Rise of WNY is the newest program of Seneca Gospel Mission located at 1643 Hertel Ave Buffalo NY. Rise of WNY is a registered 501(3)(c) nonprofit organization.  

Lacking accessible resources and education, the youth in the areas we serve often find themselves in unhealthy patterns. It’s a well-known fact that children growing up in poverty, with few mentors in their lives, are at a far greater risk of poor health, addiction, jail and unemployment.  The mission of Rise of WNY is to educate, equip and empower disadvantaged youth with knowledge, skills, and compassion to have a completely new way of living life.    

How “employable” a teen is, has a substantial impact on whether they will ultimately thrive or fail in life. That is why we are so excited to announce the beginning of our RISE program, which combines a youth run coffee shop with a hands-on work training program. RISE Coffeehouse will provide disadvantaged Buffalo teens with real world job skills training and experience, resume writing and interviewing lessons, and job placement assistance. Our wholistic approach also focuses on character and spiritual growth. We are investing in our underserved youth and your future workforce!

The funds from last year’s Gala allowed us to remodel our facility on Hertel Ave. The money raised at this year’s Gala will help us provide educational materials, furnishings, equipment and supplies needed to educate our teens in this real-life environment.
