We are hosting our second annual Holiday Dinner Fundraiser this year on December 12, 2022, to raise funds for our program. With the help of our amazing donors and community, we raised over $30,000 at last year’s event. We will be having dinner, dancing, raffling a few items off, and a silent auction.

We are asking our community and local businesses to come together and help shape the future of our young men and women by making a cash donation or donating items such as: gift cards, experience, gift baskets, spa packages, dining extravaganza, or other such items that we can raffle or auction off during our event so that our cadets not only reach their fundraising goal, but our community comes together as a whole, and we keep our business local. We are also looking for businesses to donate food, beverages, and dessert for the event so that everything that we raise is strictly profit for the program.

Galena High School’s JROTC program helps students develop leadership, discipline, self-confidence, personal responsibility, and teamwork – critical skills that build a solid foundation and set them on a path to success.

Our Cadets develop these skills every day in the classroom, but the real growth comes from our extracurricular activities:

·        Rifle Team (our Cadets compete regionally shooting air rifles)

·        Drill Team

·        Color Guard

·        Robotics Team

·        Raider Team (a team-based athletic competition against other area JROTC programs)

·        Field trips of current or historic interest – the State Capitol, Travis Air Force Base, Defense language Institute (Monterey).

With your help, we can expand our current efforts and offer more opportunities for our Cadets to become tomorrow’s leaders. We currently have over 150 Cadets in our program and 3 of the 2023 graduating class were awarded appointments at the various Military Academies.
