Description

We are in the process of collecting auction items for our annual online fundraising auction which runs April 15 - May 1, 2020.  I’m writing to request your assistance in making our event a success.  All of the funds raised from this event will be used to further Children’s Aid’s work in our local community.  All donors will have their company website linked to the auction website, will be acknowledged on Children’s Aid, Inc.’s website and social media channels and are acknowledged in our May 2020 newsletter.

Children's Aid, Inc. is a 501(3)(c) nonprofit located in Calvert County, Maryland.  Through our programs, we provide assistance to local children in need by promoting the importance of education and literacy as well as providing children with opportunities for physical activity.

Currently, we operate several programs. Operation Backpack provides economically disadvantaged children with a new backpack filled with new school.  Last year we provided 315 local students with the new start to the school year that they needed. In an effort to provide at-risk children with opportunities for physical activity, we provide Youth Sports Scholarships for a variety of activities, including football, soccer, basketball, and baseball for elementary school students.  The purpose of the Great Book Giveaway Program is twofold: to give books to children who otherwise might not have books (or many books) of their own and to educate parents on the importance of reading aloud to their young children. The Christmas Cheer Program provides filled Christmas Stockings to youth participants of the local Shop with a Cop program.  The Memorial Scholarship Program grants a $1,000 scholarship to a graduating senior pursuing a degree in Education and a $1,000 scholarship to a graduating senior pursuing an automotive technology diploma.
