Brett's Bands 5K for SUDEP Awareness is an annual event established to support the efforts of Brett's Bands providing education and raising awareness for epilepsy and sudden unexpected death in epilepsy (SUDEP).

This event takes place at English Landing Park in Parkville, Missouri every fall on a gorgeous route that runs along the Missouri River. We are spoiled with post race entertainment by area dance and vocal talent. This will be the 3rd year both Liberty Dance and Glee Competition Team and The Platte County Treasures Dance Team will come out to entertain our audience. The KC Ice Shack will also be back for their 3rd year supporting Brett's Bands and will once again offer up amazing shaved ice treats. We have continued to be blessed to have local talent sing the National Anthem including Matt Snook, Chandavian Bradley, and this year will have Travis Marvin kick off the event. Volunteers from the Miss America Organization have been invited back out to sing, dance, and sign autographs. For the event itself there are 2 SWAG packages that participants can choose from with different price points. Currently offering $5 off Early Bird Registration through July 14th.

For 2023, we are looking to raise the bar for what our amazing supporters can come to expect from this event. This is where our amazing community of donors can help! Two big additions: We are getting behind the grill to serve up a full catered lunch including all the fun fixings in a hot dog bar and sides! Brett's Bands is also putting together raffle baskets! Some of the super fun ideas we have are: Things to do in Kansas City, Kansas City Sports, Dining in Kansas City, Relaxation/Pampering, Travel, Alcohol, Girls Night Out, Grill Master, and Animal Lovers...but we are definitely open to other fun ideas!
