Other Event Type for California Waterfowl AssociationAug 25, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM
The California Waterfowl Association (CWA) is a conservation organization dedicated to the preservation and enhancement of waterfowl, wetlands and their habitat within California. CWA has been at the forefront of efforts to protect and restore wetlands, marshes and other important habitats for waterfowl and other wildlife. One of the most successful programs is the Wetlands Restoration Project, which focuses on rehabilitation and preserving wetlands. Work is focused on both breeding and wintering habitat. These efforts have not only benefitted waterfowl and other wildlife but have also helped improve water quality and erosion. In terms of numbers to date, 937,968 wood ducks have been hatched, 738,384 acres preserved and 277,254 waterfowl have been banded. CWA also has programs teaching students about waterfowl, wetlands and conservation, 335,809 youth have been educated with our programs.
California Waterfowl relies heavily on local CWA member volunteers to help raise funds. The Benicia-Vallejo chapter is a holding a fundraising dinner and auction. In order to assure the success of our auction we would like to take this opportunity to request your help in sponsoring this event. Our fundraiser includes both live and silent auction, table games and general, ladies and youth raffle. Any items that would be donated would be appreciated.
