Dear Community Member,

At Grossmont College we serve a diverse student population, including low-income single parents, through our Cooperative Agencies Resources for Education (CARE) program. Currently we are working to put together our End of the Year Celebration for all of our CARE families. This includes our single parent students along with all of their children ages 0-18 years old.

We are writing to request donations for our End of the Year Celebration taking place on June 7th. Our CARE students work hard to provide better opportunities for their children by making the choice to go back to school despite numerous personal and financial hardships. Our CARE program provides a celebration for our low-income single parent students to honor their hard work during the academic year and to provide resources for them during the summer when they do not have resources from their children's schools or through our college. On the day of the event, we provide a full dinner including refreshments & dessert, music, activities, arts & crafts, face painting, raffles, and giveaways for both parents and children. 

We will promote our donors in various ways. Our CARE MC will recognize all donors throughout the event. We will highlight our donors in an email blast to our college. We will also post your company logo on our Facebook and Instagram accounts. Our event program and Power Point will automatically scroll and show the names & logos of all donors. After the event, the CARE team will follow up with thank you cards and pictures from the CARE families. With your support, we hope to celebrate with our single parent students and their children.
