Description

The CACCT Annual Divine Desserts "Caribbean Nights” Gala, will be held on July 22, 2023, in Temple, Texas, at the Frank W. Mayborn Convention Center.  Over 300 guests will be in attendance for this great event. This year is very special as we have invited Key Note Speaker Margaret Hoelzer, 3-time Olympic Medalist, former World Record holder, World Champion, National Spokesperson for the National Children's Advocacy Center and child sexual abuse survivor to join us for the evening.  This event features a 1-of-a-kind dessert buffet catered by our favorite Central Texas Bakers, a silent and live auction, and more!  Proceeds from this event helps fill the financial gap we face in providing hope, healing, and justice to child abuse survivors and families.

The CACCT provides a safe and comfortable environment wherealleged child victims and their families come for collaborative investigative services. Law enforcement and ChildProtective Services (CPS) refer all cases to the CACCT that meet the following criteria: sexual abuse, severephysical abuse, high risk for abuse, witness to violent crime, and domestic minor sex traffi cking. Trained forensicinterviewers work with law enforcement, CPS, and prosecution personnel to provide quality forensic interviews toassist in the investigative process. At least monthly, our team meets with a multidisciplinary team (MDT) thatincludes law enforcement, CPS, medical and mental health professionals, and prosecutors to continuecoordinating the cases to achieve a positive outcome for both the children and the agencies investigating theabuse. In addition, we provide family advocacy, counseling, and coordinate pediatric sexual assault and forensicexams with McLane's Children's Hospital.
