Lakewood Elementary is a Title 1 Community School with a majority minority student population. The Friends of Lakewood Elementary Parent Teacher Association is a 501(c)(3) volunteer non-profit organization of parents, teachers, and friends of the school dedicated to improving our students’ lives in and out of school. Examples of the programs we fund are:

• Interpretation, food, and childcare at all PTA meetings

• Teacher and staff appreciation and support for classroom supplies throughout the year

• Family Crisis Fund for families in need

• Educational Enrichment Activities

• Family and Community Events

We are putting on our annual community festival and fundraising event called the Bulldog Block Party on April 27th to raise money to support our programs, and hopefully expand what we can do for the school. As part of the fundraiser, we will have a raffle and Silent Auction. 

The festival will have free food, games for kids, wellness vendors, classes and exercise groups, a raffle for familes, music, and an opportunity to spend time together as a community.
