Description

We are reaching out to you from Connor's Kindness Project (CKP).  CKP is a nonprofit founded during the Covid pandemic, by (then) 12-year-old from Lynnfield, Connor Wright.  It was a challenging time for a lot of children and Connor wanted to give back and help even in small ways so, along with his grandmother, they started by creating Covid Care Packages filled with activities and trinkets and delivered them to children in their community that were sick or in isolation from Covid.  From there Connor and his grandmother worked on a few other projects with local non-profits, including Catie’s Closet and Birthday Wishes. These experiences morphed into ideas about how CKP could execute their own mission.

After brainstorming and researching the “Kindness Kit” was launched and has been well received.   A Kindness Kit is a box of carefully thought-out items (selected by Connor himself) and includes a mini-Lego set, Bombas socks, Etch A Sketch, Play-Doh, slime, crayons, a coloring book, stickers, a Foldscope, and Pop It.  The kits are delivered to children in hospitals and shelters and are meant to be entertaining, comforting and fun for children in challenging situations. In the past 18 months, CKP has delivered more than 2250 kits to 27 partner locations throughout all of New England.  Some well-known organizations receiving these kits include: Ronald McDonald House, Lahey/Beth Isreal, Umass Memorial, Children’s Hospital, Christopher’s Haven, Shriners, and Lazarus House.  The mission taken off and CKP has requests for 2500 kits in 2023.  In 2022, CKP also launched the Kid’s Kindness Club, which is a way for CKP to introduce elementary school age children to community service, being kind and supporting others.  This program is launched in schools, where the student body takes a pledge together, each student completes 20 acts of kindness and then the children are awarded a certificate of kindness and a “kindness is my superpower” pin.

To assist the group in fulfilling all its requests for Kindness Kitsand launching its Kindness Club in as many schools as possible, CKP will be holding it second annual Cornhole Tournament on May 12, 2023.  There will be an array of raffle items at the event and we love for you to consider donating items or a gift card from your establishment.
