We are reaching out to request donation of items, gift certificates and/or funding for the Denim to Diamonds "Kentucky Derby Party" gala and auction that supports the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Northeast Kansas, a 501(c)3 organization (FEIN #48-1022967). Your tax-deductible donation will support family stays at Topeka’s Ronald McDonald House, which offers guest families –

•Proximity to their hospitalized children and a comfortable place to sleep
•Home-cooked meals and a fully equipped double kitchen
•Gathering areas for families to relax
•Laundry facilities and WIFI access
•Ongoing support from staff, volunteers, and other families

Our Kentucky Derby Party will be held at Townsite Topeka on Saturday, August 20, with the virtual auction kicking off the prior Saturday to allow ample time for bidding. This is our organization’s most significant annual fundraiser, raising approximately 20-25 percent of our annual operating budget. Your support will help us keep families close to their hospitalized children for another year!

Topeka’s Ronald McDonald House offers eight sleeping rooms with private bathrooms, a large dining room, double kitchen, living and family rooms, laundry facilities, playground, and off-street parking. More than 10,000 families have stayed at the House since our doors opened in 1988. While our costs are $75/night, families are asked to donate $25/night. No one is ever turned away for inability to pay. Less than 25 percent of our families can afford to donate, which leaves a large deficit to fill through donations, grants and fundraising events.

Your support will help anchor the Ronald McDonald House in the community so that we can provide lodging, meals, and support services for families, allowing them to focus on what’s most important – the health of their children. Donated items and funds must be received at the Ronald McDonald House by August 5.
