Duck Fest 2017
Carnival/Festival for Navarro Education Foundation, Inc.May 20, 2017 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM
Duck Fest is a Rubber Duck Race and Festival at the beautiful Walnut Springs Park in Seguin, Texas. There are free games for the kids, a tug-of-war competition for high school students, food booths, and the Navarro Jazz Band as entertainment. We are asking for donations for prizes for our top 30 ducks finishing the race and hope that you will consider a donation for that purpose. We expect an attendance of several hundred, but the event is promoted to the entire school district/community, reaching several thousand families. We would love to be able to list your name as a donor to this worthy cause.
The Navarro Education Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)(3) tax-deductible entity that raises funds to provide supplementary programs for the Navarro Independent School District. Grants are awarded to classrooms and provide programs and technology which are not part of the school district budget. Some of the items funded by NEF include document camera/projectors; interactive white boards; physics and science equipment; science labs; books for history, math, English and Spanish; musical instruments, practice tools, and music composition software; Mindstorm Legos for physics; math and reading programs; laptops; iPads and iPods; a greenhouse; teleprompter systems; equipment for video announcements; Holocaust/Tolerance unit speakers; art supplies; behavioral tools; garden club supplies; chess club equipment; and more. Duck Fest is our primary fundraiser to raise money for these grants.
