Friends of Pool 2 is a 501(c)3 charity representing the interests of recreational river users in Pool 2 of the Mississippi River. Pool 2 extends from Lock and Dam #2 near Hastings, MN, to Lock and Dam #1 near Minneapolis. It also includes the lower portion of the Minnesota River from the  mouth near Minneapolis upriver to approximately Savage, MN. We hold one fundraiser per year, in November, consisting mostly of a silent auction. We are seeking non-cash in-kind donations for this auction. The funds raised will help support our mission of keeping Pool 2 clean, safe, and navigable. We sponsor many education and outreach events each year, along with special projects such as kids' fishing clinics, free life-jacket loaner stations and kids' starter tackle box loaner stations, as well as multiple public events featuring guest speakers on ecology, fish species, excess sediment, shoreline protection, etc. All donors to our Fall Fundraiser will be publicly thanked and recognized multiple times through our social media and e-newsletter, as well as in the auction postings.
