Description

This is a low-cost family fun event that takes place in school. Teachers, parents and student volunteers run the games and stations. Families can come to epeience a carnival-like experience at a low cost. We have prizes at each station/game such as dunk a teacher, plinko, bowling, basketball toss, bean bag toss, duck pond, face painting and so much more as well as raffle baskets. We are always looking for businesses to donate product or gift cards to our school so that they basket raffle can bring in 100% profit. We could use mini candy as prizes and lollipops for the lollipop tree. Some prizes that could be donated for game prizes might include fidget spinners, snap bracelets, bouncy balls, stickers, pencils, sunglasses, blow up balls, necklaces/bracelets, lanyards, refillable water bottles, slinkies, lip balm, etc.

A local business helps by donating hot dogs that we can serve at low cost for families and donation of tickets to the local speedway races. We announce the business sponsors on our flyer (wchih can be adjusted as sponsors contribute) as well as on our Facebook parent group, Facebook Home & School Page as well as through communications to parents/families of the students.

Fitzhugh Park School is a Title 1 school which means it is a school in which children from low-income families make up at least 40 percent of enrollment. Low cost family events as well as fundraising is necessary to help our Home & School Association to be able to provide funding to help with celebratins, school musicals, low-cost or free events, refreshments for rewards ceremonies as well as busing for student field trips.
