We are contacting you about supporting United Way of Northeastern Minnesota’s annual Flavor of the North event, taking place on April 27, 2023. All event proceeds will feed local children by supporting UWNEMN’s Buddy Backpacks program. The program provides nutritious, child-friendly, nonperishable meal kits to food-insecure children each Friday or weekend break they head home from school. Currently, more than 1,000 children throughout UWNEMN’s service area are enrolled in this program.

At Flavor of the North, participating area restaurants and food businesses will prepare their best menu item and demonstrate their finest in food, atmosphere, and customer service to event guests. Attendees will vote for their favorites in four categories: Appetizer, Entrée, Beverage, and Dessert – by secret ballot. The event will conclude with the announcement of the “Best of the Best” awards, determined by the most ballots received by a participating restaurant or food business in each category. 

Tickets to Flavor of the North will be on sale to the public for $50 per person with a limit of 500 attendees. In addition to savoring the finest cuisine across the northland, those attending will enjoy a huge silent auction, along with an amazing assortment of raffles.
