Description
Friends of Northside (FON) is hosting it's Spring Benefit and Silent and Live Auction on March 10 in Chicago. FON supports Northside College Prep High School in Chicago's northside and raises money to support clubs, afterschool activities, athletics and sports teams and important staff positions not covered by Chicago Public Schools. The school - which is a selective enrollment shool - has more than 1000 students that come from all over the city - some travel 1-2 hours by public transportation to attend. Most students go on to college and many are the first ones in their family to attend college. 40 percent of the student body and their families are at or below the poverty line.
