Skinner West School is a Chicago Public School educating Kindergarten to 8th grade in Chicago’s West Loop serving over 1,000 students citywide.  Skinner students achieve high academic goals: however, funding for technology, facilities, and extra-curricular activities is lacking within the Chicago Public School system.  As a way to provide the best resources possible for our Skinner Superstars, Friends of Skinner West was founded in 2011 as a 501c3 not-for-profit organization comprised of volunteers including parents and staff.

 Each year Friends of Skinner West holds an annual fundraising Walkathon to get kids moving for an entire day.  Children participate in walking on our neighbor Whitney Young High School’s track, the Alderman supports Adam’s Street closure for students to ride bikes and scooters and the kids also dance to a DJ and bounce in bounce houses.  We would like to continue this tradition and are asking for your sponsorship!
