Fur Ball 007
Gala/Party for Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals of Fredericksburg VA, Inc.Aug 20, 2022 from 5:30 PM to 10:30 PM
The Fredericksburg SPCA, the Fredericksburg region’s premier animal resource center, hosts an annual event called Fur Ball to raise essential funds to advance our mission. We not only support our community’s neediest animals; we also help families struggling with the financial aspects of pet ownership by assisting with food, supplies, and low-cost medical care; and, our Humane Education program, serving area youth ages 6+, is focused on empowering the next generation of animal advocates.
As a non-profit organization, the Fredericksburg SPCA relies primarily on volunteer and financial support. Each year, hundreds of people gather together in-person and online to make a difference for the animals at Fur Ball, featuring dinner, dancing, Live and Silent auctions, raffles and Raise the Paddle, to support our life-saving work. The generosity of our friends in the form of sponsorships and donations is necessary to make this event a success for the animals! Fur Ball 007 will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2022. We invite you to join us in the fight to end animal suffering through this exciting event. See below for a snapshot of how we grew last year:
· Our People Empowered Through Support (P.E.T.S.) Program, which keeps animals in familiar, loving homes by assisting families struggling to care for their animals with essential supplies and vet care, is rapidly expanding. In 2021, this program served 740 families with 27, 408 pounds of food – a 109% increase from 2020.
· Our Humane Education Program, which offers youth and teen programs to learn about animals and harness their compassionate nature towards all living beings, has expanded to year-round programming for children aged six to 17. We’re proud to say that 2022 has brought 25% growth in participation from 2021 – and we’ve welcomed 326 enthusiastic young people to our shelter this year.
· Our Foster Care Network is thriving. These families enrich our cats' and dogs' lives by offering them a place to grow, recover, socialize, or learn valuable skills that will help them find success in a forever home without the stress of the shelter environment. With their help, we decreased the average length of stay for both dogs and cats in 2021, and increased adoption retention.
· Our Volunteer Network grew to 1,429 in 2021 – up 63% from 2020. They are miracle workers and our most essential partners.
Thank you in advance for considering a Fur Ball donation.
